The IPSA Research Committee 06 (Political Sociology) is pleased to announce that the Call for Panels for the 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science is now open.

For the 2027 Congress, RC06's programme will be organized around the theme "Reconfiguring Leadership and Elite Governance: Inequalities in a Changing World." We invite scholars from across the globe to submit panel proposals that contribute to advancing debates in political sociology and reflect the diversity of approaches, regions, and perspectives within the field.

Panel proposals may be submitted either as Open Panels, which will later receive paper submissions through the IPSA Call for Papers, or as Closed Panels, organized in advance with a chair, discussant(s), and four to six confirmed papers. Areas of interest include political culture, political behaviour and public opinion, elites and political leadership, democratic quality and institutions, political parties and representation, social movements and collective action, and the sociology of power and inequality.

The deadline for Open Panel submissions is 26 August 2026, while Closed Panel proposals may be submitted until 4 November 2026. We encourage both current RC06 members and colleagues working in political sociology to take part in building a dynamic and internationally diverse programme for Rome 2027.

We look forward to receiving your proposals and welcoming you to the RC06 programme at the IPSA World Congress.
