On June 1, 2026, members of the IPSA–ISA Research Committee 06-18 on Political Sociology gathered in Paris for the RC06-18 Open Meeting, held in conjunction with the workshop "Reconfiguring Leadership and Elite Governance: Inequalities in a Changing World." The event was hosted by the Institut Catholique de Paris, in collaboration with Universidad Católica Silva Henríquez (UCSH), FLACSO Chile, and RC06-18.

The workshop brought together scholars from different countries to discuss contemporary transformations in political leadership, elite governance, inequalities, and democratic representation. Through presentations and discussions, participants exchanged perspectives across diverse regional and disciplinary contexts, strengthening international academic dialogue and collaboration.

The Open Meeting also provided an opportunity for the RC06-18 Executive Board to review the Committee's ongoing activities and discuss its future priorities. Conversations focused on preparations for upcoming IPSA and ISA conferences, plans to involve early-career scholars through a Research Assistant programme, the 2027 RC06-18 elections, publication initiatives, and strategies to strengthen member engagement and international collaboration.

We warmly thank the Institut Catholique de Paris, UCSH, FLACSO Chile, all speakers, and participants for making this event a valuable space for scholarly exchange and for advancing the work of our international political sociology community.
